“Woe to you, O Moab! You are undone, O people of Chemosh! He has made his sons fugitives, and his daughters captives, to an Amorite king, Sihon.”

Woe H188: Probably from אָוָה H183 (in the sense of crying out after); lamentation ; also interjectionally, Oh !: - alas, woe. H183: A primitive root; to wish for: - covet, (greatly) desire, be desirous, long, lust (after).

Fugitives H6412: From פָּלַט H6403; a refugee: - (that have) escape (-d, -th), fugitive. H6403: A primitive root; to slip out, that is, escape ; causatively to deliver: - calve, carry away safe, deliver, (cause to) escape.


Daughters H1323: From בָּנָה H1129 (as feminine of בֵּן H1121); a daughter (used in the same wide sense as other terms of relationship, literally and figuratively): - apple [of the eye], branch, company, daughter, X first, X old, + owl, town, village.

Captives H7622: From שָׁבָה H7617; exile ; concretely prisoners ; figuratively a former state of prosperity: - captive (-ity). H7617: A primitive root; to transport into captivity: - (bring away, carry, carry away, lead, lead away, take) captive (-s), drive (take) away.

“You shall father sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours, for they shall go into captivity.”
